NOTICE TO PLAYERS! FALL MAINTENANCE IS UNDERWAY ON THE GREENS
Fall has arrived quickly, and considering the weather risks, we need to complete the aeration and sanding of the greens on the course this week. The necessity of this procedure might already be clear to players from previous years, but we would like to explain a bit more about why it’s needed and why now.
GREENS AERATION – WHY?
#1 Greens aeration is a maintenance task performed on the golf course to ensure the quality of the greens. #2 Greens aeration and sanding prevents the spread of natural mold and plant diseases that thrive in moist autumn conditions.
#3 The greenkeeper must choose the greens aeration time very carefully, and there’s a risk that if the optimal time is missed,
this important maintenance work will not be completed. Greens aeration and sanding cannot be performed if there are heavy rains before or after the sanding, or other unfavorable weather conditions.
Unavoidable course maintenance work should be viewed as essential, unavoidable major work to ensure continued playing pleasure for golfers by early spring 2026.
Greenkeepers’ contribution is crucial for your enjoyment, so we ask you to view such work positively, as a temporary necessity, and allow the greenkeeper to carry out their work undisturbed. The course will reward you with its excellent quality again from early spring.
