LOCAL RULES AT THE OTEP\u00c4\u00c4 GOLF COURSE<\/h1>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

1) Out of Bounds (Rule 18.2)<\/b>
Out of bounds is marked with white stakes on holes 1, 3, 5, 9, 14, 17, 18. The edge of the out of bounds is defined by a line on the ground between the sides of the piles and the piles themselves are in out of bounds.<\/p>\n

The fairway of hole 18 is out of bounds in relation to hole 10 along its entire length.<\/p>\n

2) Penalty Areas (Rule 17)<\/b>
Penalty areas are defined by either red or yellow stakes. The boundary of a penalty area is defined by a line running between the course-side edges of the stakes on the ground and also extends over any part of the penalty area.
If the ball last crossed the edge of a red penalty area on holes 1, 4, 8, 9, it is possible to take an additional relief (adding one penalty stroke) as a lateral relief from the opposite side of the red penalty area, from a spot equidistant from the hole as the point where the ball entered (Local Rule Model B-2). From the penalty areas of holes 7, 16 and 17, as an additional exemption (by adding one penalty shot), it is possible to drop the ball in the drop zone marked DROP ZONE or DZ. The drop area is the exemption area as defined in rule 14.3.<\/p>\n

3) Playing a provisional ball in the penalty area. <\/b><\/p>\n

If a player does not know whether his ball is in the penalty area of the 9th lane, he may play a provisional ball as modified by rule 18.3. as follows:
A player may use the stroke-and-distance relief option (Rule 17.1.d(1)), the back-on-the-line relief option (Rule 17.1.d(2)), or the lateral relief option from the opposite side of the red penalty area (Rule 17.1d(3)) to play a provisional ball. If a dropping zone (Local Rule Model E-1) is one of the available options in that penalty area, the player may also use that option.
If a player has played a provisional ball under this Rule, they cannot use any subsequent options under Rule 17.1 that apply to the original ball.
To determine when a provisional ball becomes the ball in play or when a provisional ball is abandoned, Rules 18.3c(2) and 18.3c(3) apply, except in the following case:
If the original ball is found within the three-minute search time \u2013 the player may choose whether to:
-continue playing the original ball that is in the penalty area (in which case the provisional ball is not played). Any strokes made with the provisional ball before it was abandoned (including strokes made with the provisional ball and penalty strokes incurred while playing the provisional ball) do not count,
or continue playing the provisional ball (in which case the original ball is not played).
If the original ball is not found within the three-minute search time, or if it is known or virtually certain,
that the ball is in the penalty area \u2013 the provisional ball becomes the ball in play. <\/p>\n

4) Pre-match venues<\/strong><\/p>\n

Preferred lie rule applies.<\/p>\n

5) Abnormal ground conditions (i.e. immovable obstacles) (rule 16).<\/span><\/p>\n

Repair areas are defined by blue stakes or a white (blue) line. Areas of bunkers where water has washed away sand are repair areas.<\/p>\n

All sprinklers, distance signs, pavilions, “next road” signs, fences, etc. are immovable obstacles. <\/p>\n

The large stones located in the greenside bunker of hole 2 are immovable obstructions.<\/p>\n

The 9th hole stone wall is an integral part of the course.<\/span><\/p>\n

The piles of branches in the penalty areas are an integral part of the course.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

6) Dropping zones<\/span><\/p>\n

As an additional exemption from the repair area on hole 16, a player may drop a ball into a drop zone marked DROP ZONE or DZ. The drop zone is the exemption area (rule 14.3).<\/span>ext road” signs, fences, etc. are immovable obstacles. The 9th hole stone wall is an integral part of the course. The piles of branches in the penalty areas are an integral part of the course.<\/b><\/p>\n

 <\/b><\/p>\n

7) Animal damage<\/b><\/p>\n

Damage caused by animals in the general area is a ground under repair, and relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b.
No relief is allowed if the damage only interferes with the player’s stance.<\/p>\n

8) All Roads and Paths are Obstructions<\/b>
All roads and paths on the course, even if not covered with artificial material, are obstructions, and relief may be taken from them under Rule 16.1. As an additional relief option, the ball may be dropped into the nearest drop zone on 7th hole.<\/p>\n

9) Concrete Drainage Channels<\/b>
Drainage channels made of artificial materials and installed alongside roads are immovable obstructions in the general area and are treated as part of the road, and relief may be taken from them under Rule 16.1b. Alternatively, a drop zone can be used if it is nearby. Penalty for breaking a local rule – see rule 4.3.<\/p>\n

10) Rules for Suspension and Resumption of Play<\/b>
If the Committee declares an immediate suspension of play due to a dangerous situation, all players must immediately stop play, and a player is prohibited from making another stroke until the Committee resumes play. In case of danger, players are alerted by the signal with ONE LONG sound. For all other interruptions, three short beeps. In both cases, the resumption of the game is signalled by the sound of TWO SOUNDS. Penalty for breaking a local rule: A player will receive a general penalty for each lane where they break a rule. If the infringement occurs between two holes, it will be applied on the next hole.<\/p>\n
