The next championship event, organized this time by the Estonian Golf Association, will take place next weekend in Pärnu: the Estonian Inter-Club Championships. Otepää Golf & Country Club has entered men’s, women’s, and senior men’s teams. For our club, this marks our sixth participation in the Inter-Club Championships.

Otepää Golf & Country Club began its operations in 2020, following an amendment to the Estonian Golf Association’s statutes that permitted the registration of one club per 9 holes for each golf course (instead of one club per 18 holes).

This amendment to the statutes was significant, leading to natural market competition among clubs. Overnight, all clubs had to re-engage with their members and determine what genuine value they could offer.

Creating competition for “monopoly clubs” led to an increase in club membership across all regions of Estonia.
