GOLF COACHES

A trainer, or PRO in golf parlance, is a trained teacher who covers all areas of the game. But more narrowly, a golf coach may also specialise in golf, as in any other profession. Some PROs have specific knowledge of the psychology of golf, others of the physics of golf.

Once you’ve completed a Green Card course and started playing golf, you’ll be surprised to learn that every player still needs a golf instructor almost every season.

However, since winter in the Estonian climate is a period when golf tends to take a back seat, you should take a private lesson or a group training session with a PRO when you take to the grass again in spring.

To book a private lesson with a PRO or a group training session, please contact the Caddiemaster or fill in the form below.

GOLF EXPERTS

PRO Valdek Apivala

PRO Valdek is one of the longest serving golf coaches in Estonia. Valdek’s strengths are his long experience in golf, his thorough approach to Green Card preparation and his sense of humour. His golfing humour is the first positive impulse for many beginners to return to the golf course.

One fun fact about Valdek Apivala that many don’t know is that he is the first player to be elected as a golf club captain in South Estonia. Valdek believes that the main value of golf is exercise and taking care of your health.

Golf coaches

A golf instructor is a player who has received the necessary training to coach children and young people. The golf instructor is also responsible for introducing golf to new golf enthusiasts and for assisting as an assistant instructor on a golf course.

The instructors of Otepää Golf Centre are Madis Uudam, Sander Pormeister, Magnar Saar, Oskar Laur and Janeli Jallai. The instructors have been trained by the Swedish PGA and have received the necessary preparation for the Golf Leader Level 1 and Golf Leader Level 2 courses in the winter of 2022 and 2023.
